MFAH: Ron Mueck and Pipilotti Rist

Finally had a free day for me and the hubby to catch the current exhibits at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston! We went on a Sunday and had a difficult time finding parking close to the museum, but we were able to find a spot in a parking garage a couple of blocks down. Ticket prices, if you’re not a MFAH member, are $18 for each individual exhibit or $25 to see both exhibits plus permanent collections in the museum.

He spends more than a year working on each sculpture and has altered the scale of life-size figures to grab your attention.

Pipilotti Rist: Pixel Forest and Worry Will Vanish

until September 17, 2017

Following the popularity of the Kusama exhibit, a new exhibit by Pipilotti Rist has taken space in MFAH. Pipilotti Rist is a Swiss artist that has created a light and video based installation together with lighting designer Kaori Kuwabara. Thousand of hanging lights dangle from the ceiling to create the Pixel Forest of LED lights that change colors in a rhythmic pattern.

In the corner of the same space Worry Will Vanish is a projection of digital images creating a dreamlike video on the walls. A seating area is available for visitors stay as long as they want to recline and relax while watching.

Hope you guys take some time to visit this exhibit. It’s not gonna be around much longer! Watch our vlog here:
